The images on the board blurred as I stood there, staring at the three faces crossed out with red ink. Each stroke of that marker had been a promiseโa promise to bring justice, to make them pay for what they did to my parents. Their deaths had torn something inside me, left a hole that I hadn't been able to fill, not with revenge, not with wealth, not even with power. And these facesโthey were only pawns.
